Derek Stockley
Before studying painting at St Martins in the mid-1970s, Derek Stockley was an engineer servicing F4 Phantoms on the aircraft carrier ‘Ark Royal’. Since then he has studied at Chelsea and built up a large body of work, that captures the excitement of the process of painting in dense layers of encaustic wax.
